    DIRECTOR OF Mother's Day Out

I was raised in the small town of Dandridge, Tennessee.  In 2005 I went to Michigan for four years to be a live-in nanny to four children.  When I moved back to Tennessee, I took the Certified Nursing Assistant program at Waters State Community College.  I worked at University of Tennessee Medical Center for almost five years where I met my husband.  After our daughter was born, I prayed for a way to have more time at home with her, and shortly after was led to serve at Ridgedale MDO.  I love teaching my students about God's love and growing a relationship with them and their families.  The verse I live by is "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord not for men."

I have been teaching at Ridgedale since 2012 in both the twos and the threes classes.  In college, I majored in education at Kansas State University and have used my experience at many age levels all over the world.  My husband and I settled in the Knoxville area when our daughter, Penelope, was born.  We now have a little boy, Eldon, and our girl has started Elementary school.  When I'm not chasing my kids around, I love eating Chinese food, drinking coffee, writing for the Knoxville Mom’s Blog, and serving our Faith Promise Church, Blount Campus.  I’m so grateful for all that Ridgedale has meant to our family over the years and I love being able to bless our Mother’s Day Out families in return.

I have lived in Knoxville my whole life, and I have been married to my best friend, Tony, since 2008.  I have two beautiful girls, Kaylei and Rylyn,  and a wonderful step-son, Alex.  I knew at a young age that God had called me to work with children.  I graduated from Tusculum College in 2009 with a BA in Elementary Education K-6 and have taught children of all different ages for over ten years.  My favorite age group, however, is preschool.  Their willingness to learn and their vivid imaginations amaze me.  I enjoy spending time with my family, and I have recently discovered a love for camping.  I was made to be outdoors.

I was born and raised in Knoxville and have a degree in Medical Transcription, but my heart is for teaching children and watching them blossom.  I am married to my wonderful husband, Jimmy, and we have three awesome kids: Mya, Mady, and Jake.  We also love our pets, including a rescued turtle that has been a part of our family for over two years.  I am a member of Ridgedale Baptist Church where I also volunteer in the Awana program.

  • Ms. Sarah

I am a native of East Tennessee where my husband and I have decided to call home and begin raising our family.  We have one son who was born in June 2016.  After our son was born, our priorities shifted and God made a way for me to share time with my son while continuing to pursue my passion of teaching.  Knowing that I am helping  influence the great minds of the next generation is my driving force.  I have been working with infants-preschoolers since 2010 and have an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. I truly believe that if you “rain up a child in the way he should go, when he is old he will not depart from it.”  I am excited to be at Ridgedale where I can teach what I believe.

Children take the first steps in their faith at a young age, and I am so grateful to be able to help teach them.  I have always had a strong passion for children and cannot imagine doing anything else.  In addition to teaching, I am also a member of the United States Air National Guard.  I love dogs, riding my motorcycle, running, and doing anything outdoors.  I am beyond blessed to have been a part of this ministry since 2013.

I grew up in north Atlanta and moved to Knoxville to attend the University of Tennessee in 2013.  I graduated in 2016 and was led to Ridgedale MDO just a few months later to teach the 3-4 year old class.  I am beyond blessed by the amazing students, families and coworkers I've met during my time here.  The best part of working with students at Ridgedale is helping them develop their love for the Lord and watching them grow in their relationship with each other.  My husband and I live downtown and enjoy spending time out with friends and family, reading, running and camping.

I'm from Raleigh, North Carolina and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Elementary Education.  This is my ninth year teaching, and first year at Ridgedale.  I've taught preschool through 8th grade, with the most time spent teaching 3rd grade.  My husband and I recently moved to Knoxville, and have two boys (5 and almost 3) who also attend Ridgedale MDO.  I love to run, read and travel.

I live in Maryville with my husband Ryan and our daughter Kylee who is three years old also currently attending Ridgedale MDO.  I grew up in South Florida and have recently relocated to Maryville, TN with my husband for a better lifestyle for our family.  I have been married for four years.  I enjoy traveling, being with friends and family.  This will be my eighth year teaching and my second year at Ridgedale.  I am excited to make this my best year yet!  In December of 2010, I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education K-6 from Florida Atlantic University.  I am currently certified as an Elementary Educator for Tennessee and Florida.  Since moving here I prayed that I would be able to stay at home with our daughter.  God made my dreams come true as a teacher at Ridgedale.  It is the perfect opportunity for met to use my training as an Elementary School teacher and teach children a love for God.  My favorite bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11.

I was born in New York and moved to East TN when I was eight.  I have fallen in love with East TN and the culture.  I started working with children when I was in seventh grade, in my churches children ministry.  In my senior year of high school, I realized my passion for children was growing and that working with them is something I wanted to peruse and study in college.  I am studying Early Childhood Development at Pellissippi State Community College.  I am a part of The National Society of Leadership and Success and hold the role of Vice President of Pellissippi chapter.  I have been blessed with many amazing role models; I love the families and teacher I encounter every day.
