I am a native of East Tennessee and a graduate of Baylor University in Waco, TX.  I began teaching two and three year olds at Mother's Day Out in 2010 and became the director of the program in 2012.  I also serve in a variety of children's ministries here at Ridgedale, including Awana and Vacation Bible School.  I absolutely love hearing about how God is moving in people's lives, and I am incredibly blessed to be able to share the love of Christ with children on a daily basis.

It can be said that I have many children based on the fact that I have taken care of many children all my life.  I do not have any biological children, but I do have a child that I have taken care of since his birth and have raised him as my own.  I have a passion for children.  I really believe God blesses people with many talents, and one of mine is being able to connect with children.  I enjoy having the opportunity to work with all the families and children that I have come to know and love while belonging to this church family and program.

I am a 2004 graduate of Kansas State University and Manhattan Christian College with a B.S. in Secondary Education.  The majority of my teaching experience, however, has been in Southeast Asia where I served as a missionary for 6 years.  When I'm not chasing my daughter, Penelope, around, I love to read, create, run, eat good food, and watch football.  My family attends Faith Promise Church in Blount County where I sing on the worship team.  I love being able to bless the families of Ridgedale Mother's Day Out!

Children have always brought great joy to my life.  Although I'm not a mother yet, I still have a ton of experience in working with children.  I grew up in a home that was a daycare from the time I was three until most recently and since I moved out, I could not imagine doing anything else!  I am in college studying for my degree in Early Childhood Education and my dream has always been to be a mother.  I treat every child in my class as my own, and have a very strong passion for teaching children the Gospel.  Children take the first steps in their faith at a young age so it is very important for them to have role models to look up to.  I am also an avid runner, rock climber, camper, and hiker.  I am excited to one day have a family that I can pass these hobbies down to!  I am very blessed to be a part of an incredible team at Ridgedale and cannot thank God enough for giving me this opportunity ~ James 1:2.

I have an Associate's degree in Science and a Bachelor's degree in Science/K-12 Physical Education.  I love Jesus, and I love life!  After God, my husband, Darrick, who is a police officer and my one year old son, Dylan, are my absolute world.  We love doing things as a family including fishing, swimming, going to the lake and pretty much any outdoor activity.  Since my son was born, I was blessed to stay at home with him until God led me here to be a teacher at MDO.  I love my student and feel truly blessed to have them in my lives.  Each and every one of them have a special place in my heart!
