Elders

The Board of Directors as set forth in Scripture is one of sympathy, witness, and service after the examples of Jesus Christ.  Persons of spiritual character, honest repute, of exemplary lives, brotherly and sisterly love, warm sympathies, and sound judgement should be chosen for this office.  It is the duty of a Board Member, first of all, to minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to anyone who may be in distress both within and beyond the community of faith.

Function & Nature

Ridgedale practices "Director rule" in how we govern ourselves.  The Scriptures teach that Directors (or overseers or shepherds) are responsible for the health and direction of the church . Directors are nominated by the church membership, vetted over by the existing directors, and then voted on by the church membership.  The spiritual qualifications for Director are found in 1 Timothy 3:1-16 and Titus 1:5-9.  The assembly was to recognize those who were spiritually qualified for church leadership.  These individuals were then to minister to the church by godly service and rule.  Our staff and leaders perform the function of carrying out the directional decisions of our Senior Pastor and our Board of Directors.
