Volunteer and workplace unifiers

  • We over communicate. Communication needs to be comprehensive and meticulous.  People need to be informed, one decision or detail can affect several other teams of individuals.
  • We resolve conflicts promptly and graciously.  We keep short accounts.  We give feedback with grace, receive it with humility, and forgive one another when we fail.
  • We model servant leadership.  We are all toilet scrubbers.  We do whatever it takes to keep Ridgedale running effectively.  No task is below any of us.
  • We attend to detail.  We purse excellence even in the smallest details.
  • We are a team.  There is no "them," there is only "us."  we avoid siloing.  When facing a problem, we gather those who can best help it get solved.  We assist each other and recognize that we are all a part of the whole.
  • We are a family.  We care about and for each other.
  • People are valued.  Every role at Ridgedale is valuable.  There are no stars on our volunteer team or staff.  Titles are descriptive of role not status.
  • We are good stewards.  We are wise managers of the facility, the budget, the staff, our time, and our talent.  It all belongs to God.
  • We are approachable.  Each team member should feel free to share their feelings and frustrations with fellow volunteers and staff.
  • We expect change and adapt accordingly.  Ridgedale will change.  We should avoid settling in, and be flexible as the church matures.
  • We trust one another.  We believe the best of other team members.
  • We have fun.  Laughter is one of our volunteer and staff currencies.
  • We pursue excellent (professionalism).  We do the best we can with what we have at every opportunity.  Our facility, volunteers, staff and efforts should reflect our commitment to excellence.
  • We value and serve our customers.  We seek to serve our customer, whether it be our congregation, the community, our vendors, our volunteers or others.
  • We celebrate/encourage/appreciate one another.  We expect excellence and we celebrate it when we see it.  We don't take one another for granted.
  • We pursue integrity.  We are honest in our words and actions.
  • We are stakeholders.  We are committed to the Lord and to Ridgedale.  There are no hirelings.  We work hard as unto the Lord.  It is not a job, but a calling.
  • We are life-long learners.  We are each seeking to advance our knowledge and skill.
  • We treat each other with respect.  We release to each other in a Christ-honoring manner.
  • We abide in Christ and pray continually.
